Understanding Market Structure

The foundation everything else builds on — read structure, and AVWAP, order blocks, and liquidity all start making sense.

What "structure" actually means

Placeholder copy. Price moves in swings. Market structure tracks the highs and lows those swings leave behind — and what that sequence says about who's in control.

Higher highs, higher lows

Placeholder copy. An uptrend is higher highs and higher lows. A lower low where a higher low was expected is usually the first sign control is shifting.

Break of Structure vs. Change of Character

Placeholder copy. A Break of Structure confirms the trend continuing. A Change of Character is the first break against it — the earliest signal a reversal may be forming.

Anchored VWAP, Explained

When to anchor, why it matters, and how to read multi-source AVWAP without getting lost in the lines.

What VWAP measures

Placeholder copy. VWAP is the volume-weighted average price — roughly where most of the money changed hands over a window, not just where price is now.

Why "anchored" matters

Placeholder copy. Standard VWAP resets every session. Anchored VWAP lets you pick the starting point — a swing high/low, a news event, a trend's start — so it reflects a meaningful moment, not an arbitrary reset.

Multi-source anchoring

Placeholder copy. AVWAP [BLT] anchors from several sources at once — session open, weekly open, a chosen swing point — so you can see which levels are still acting as support/resistance.

Reading confluence

Placeholder copy. The real edge is confluence — when an AVWAP line lines up with a structure level or session high/low, that zone carries more weight.

Risk Management Basics

Position sizing, R:R ratios, and the habits that keep one bad trade from wiping out a good week.

Why position size matters more than being right

Placeholder copy. Disciplined sizing at 40% win rate can beat oversized bets at 70%. Sizing is the lever you control — being "right" isn't.

The 1% rule

Placeholder copy. Risk no more than 1% of your account per trade. A losing streak becomes a rough week, not a blown account.
